Tex: Dwarf Decker (Steve Cavelle) [Player Absent]
Fiver: Human Sword Adept (Aaron Shefield)
Tikal: Troll Combat Mage (Erik Tiernan) [Player Absent]

Play starts mid combat round. See previous session for the buildup.

Gangers start to shoot through the opening in the wall. Fiver takes damage from several shooters but manages to retreat out of site. Keryth and Leo take out some gangers but a fire elemental almost kills Leo in return. Fiver manages to kill the elemental but takes damage from it’s fire aura. Wrench’s drone, with Wrench jumped in,manages to kill another but is destroyed by return fire and Wrench takes damage from dumpshock.

As the battle hangs in the balance several injured gangers start running, the route becomes general until just one ganger is alive and still in the fight. While Fiver holds his sword to the remaining gangers throat Keryth pours gunfire into him, bringing the ganger to the edge of death. They stabilize their prisoner and proceed to search the rest of the building.

They find a crate with the name of the research company on it. The box is two meters by two meter by five meters and is too large for the group to lift or fit into the Bulldog van. The box also puts out a positive, magical background count that is counteracting the natural negative count that the building had picked up as a low quality whorehouse.

Using the contact information given to them by their new employer, they reach Magpie, who is seemingly in the middle of a firefight. She tells the group to secure the package and that she and her boss will be by to pick it up the next day. Calling his wife, the Ancients gang member Serena, Keryth arranges for a flatbed truck, with a load lifter, to come and pick it up, They also get some Ancients to ride Guard detail and they move the package to an abandoned Auto Repair shop on the Auburn/Puyallup border.

Healing the ganger brings him around and they interrogate him. He seems to have lost any fight and gives them the following information.

He blames everything on a woman named Jenna Soulis, one of the rare elven members of the Cutters. She’s a Mystic Adept who apparently has new friends. They’ve supplied her with the weapons and have paid for her to attend the University of Seattle. They are the ones who want what’s in the crate. Soulis had been at the school but had never showed herself and her friends were scheduled to pick up the package in two days. The ganger, whos street name is Bane, doesn’t know who her friends are.

A little research by the group finds that Soulis is attending the school under her own name and the money comes from the Xavier Richards memorial fund. The fund is supporting approximately twenty students in magical studies in several UCAS cities. They also find her public address that the school has. The group decides not to try to capture her themselves, instead they wait on their employer.

The employer, who asks the group to call him Scale, is impressed that they managed to recover the box. Opening the box reveals a large, black lozenge with silvery tracery all over it and scientific monitors on one end. Magpie checks the readouts and report that the plutonium was still inside and that the “enhanced half-life effect” was still in place. The group gives Scale all the information that they found.

The “Deus Juice” nanites are disabled and Scale says he’ll arrange for the murder investigation to not lead back to the group. He also says he will give their names to a more trustworthy fixer he knows. According to him Lenny Morrison, the groups current fixer, specializes in sacrificial runners. He promises the group that Cowboy, the fixer he knows, will contact them in a few days. The group takes their leave of the repair shop and proceeds to sell the pay data that they were originally sent for to an MCT contact.

The session ended their.

The players received

6 Karma for the run
40,000¥ each from the paydata sale
1 Street Rep. which puts their street rep at one.

Sorry for the Delay in posting this.

Since then I’ve been running around trying to find you

Game events start and end the day of June 6, 2076.

Player Characters.

Leo: Human Mage (Andrew Dombroski)
Keryth: Human Gun Adept (Bill Johnson)
Wrench: Human Rigger (Mark Gellar)
Tex: Dwarf Decker (Steve Cavelle)
Fiver: Human Sword Adept (Aaron Shefield)
Tikal: Troll Combat Mage (Erik Tiernan)

Facing a countdown clock, which ends with their deaths, the group rushes to gather information. A list of information on their original Johnson, real name William Flahrety, proves that Flahrety was friends with the murdered secretaries husband. Being that the police are questioning him at this time, the group leaves that connection to later. Do to their new Johnson’s influence they are able to get the security footage of the theft.

An outside camera shows a large truck arrive at the Research Facility and disgorge around fifteen people with assault rifles and armor but with mismatched, ratty clothes. The groups figures that the people on screen are probably gangers.

While Wrench desperately fixes his one, beloved, combat drone the others work through their contacts. With dogged persistence they manage to discover that a group of Cutters, a large Seattle gang, had recently been seen sporting new, military grade, gear. They were apparently striking out on their own and had recently eliminated a small gang in Puyallup that had been running a brothel out of an old abandoned elementary school on the edge of the ash-fields.

Hoping that this is the same group that raided the Research Facility they took off to see if they were still holed up at the former school. Reaching the place they found the entrances blocked up with debris, piled from inside. Fearing to try to push through the piles of trash and boards half the group held action while the others tried to nock it down with bullets. An earth elemental burst through, leaving a hole and attacked the group. Fiver, who had held action, managed to destroy it quickly. Seeing gangers inside, prepped to attack the group, the other who had held action started firing while an enemy hacker tried to disable Wrench’s drone.

This ended the session.

Right Place, Wrong Time

I’d of said the right thing
But I must have used the wrong line

Session 2 (Oct. 24, 2015)

Game events start and end morning of June 6, 2076.

Player Characters.

Leo: Human Mage (Andrew Dombroski)
Maverick: Human Face (Bill Johnson)
Wrench: Human Rigger (Mark Gellar)
Tex: Dwarf Decker (Steve Cavelle)
Fiver: Human Adept (Aaron Shefield)

Taking up where the last session left off.

Using the confusion of the drone’s attack on Amanda Laverham the group squeezed into the elevator, joined by one of the Knight Errant Guards who’s returning to his post. The trip up proceeds smoothly with Maverick continuing to allay the KE guard’s suspicions. The guard receives a message, easily detected by all in the elevator, and becomes extremely nervous around the group. Leo performed a control thoughts spell, successfully, upon the guard and the threat is neutralized.

The opening of the elevator revealed an empty hallway, ending in a T-junction, with one door open towards the end. An argument is heard coming from the open door and the group proceeds, towards the door. Fiver, running, reaches the door first. A KE guard fires at Fiver from the open door, the shots go wild. A beast spirit then barrels from right hand side of the T junction and attacks Fiver doing a good deal of stun damage. Leo summons his on call air spirit and sends it to use noxious breath on both the Spirit and guard. Tex sees a dark figure, in virtual reality, attempting to disable the group’s weapons. Retreating to the safety of the elevator, which was locked open, Tex goes full VR to deal with the rival decker. Fiver’s weapon focus makes quick work of the spirit and Maverick finishes off the guard. Tex drives off the shadowy hacker.

Simultaneously with all that Wrench, who is still in the van with a combat drone patrolling outside, sees a door to the emergency stairs open and a man in a suit comes out. He has an armored jacket over his suit and is wielding an assault rifle. The figure damages the combat drone but is quickly cut down.

Vincent Morano, the group’s target, is frightened and confused but agrees to go with the runners according to the plan. They make a hasty run down the emergency stairs, killing a KE guard who was running up it at the same time. Piling into the van the group leaves the area and proceeds to the drop off point. An unmarked car follows for a bit but Wrench is able to lose it in the morning traffic.

While on the way Wrench convinces the rest that he was not responsible for he drones attack and that it did it on some orders built within it. Tex notes that when Amanda Laverham died a part of Tex’s loaner deck’s code deleted itself, leaving no trace of whatever that code was for. The entire group figures that the Johnson must be responsible and that the murder must be the real purpose of the run, they arrive at the warehouse of the meet with expectations of not finding the Johnson. Tex also informs them that the unknown decker was physically in the offices of Mathias Consulting and that the person attacking Wrench’s drone was also a Mathias employee.

When they drive into the warehouse and pile out they find the body of the Johnson dead behind his desk, they also see a sniper rifle, not the murder weapon, in a case under the desk. Seconds later the sound of a VTOL craft is suddenly right over head, without any approaching sound, the glass in some skylights shatter as men in unmarked, light security armor zip line down and surround them with heavy weapons. A large fire elemental manifests at the same time.

Most of the group surrenders immediately, Maverick almost fires but manages to restrain himself. They are surrounded and two others are dragged in because they were watching the warehouse. A man and woman in expensive, Italian, business suits enter, the woman busily working with the Fairlight Excalibur she is holding. The man surveys the group with his fury in his eyes. His voice holds a trace of an accent as he lambasts the group.

The man states that the run they just did had extra repercussions. Apparently one of the other companies in the building was a front for a “listening post” for some corporation’s spy agency. The people manning the post sent out a distress signal, which caused hidden security forces of the man’s corporation to leave their normal location and head for the office. Once this happened another facility, that these security forces were first responders for, was raided and a valuable item was stolen.

The woman reminds the man that they don’t have much time to deal with the theft, as the strike team is due at another location in a half hour. The group attempts to placate the man by saying that they’ll get the item back. However he does not trust them and has them injected with a Nano cocktail that will kill them in three days if a code is not sent to the nanobots. The two extras, who had apparently been hired to come in if the group threatened the Johnson, were not excluded from this injection.

Maverick had been growing increasingly petulant, seemingly not realizing how little leverage he had he kept interrupting the man and complaining about how they had nothing to do with his lost package. When the injections started happening he struggled and when the needle approached him said, “If you’re not going to trust us then just kill me!” The man obliged him and Mavericks bullet riddled corpse lay on the floor.

The man informed everyone that the code would be sent if the group could give convincing evidence of where the missing box, which apparently includes 50kg of plutonium, was located and who had it. He went on to say that if the group could get the box back then he would not only spare their lives he would help avert the legal repercussions of the killings during the original run. The box was stolen from a small company called Smithson Research. They could get access to the facility but he advised them that finding out who was ultimately responsible for the TRM run might be more profitable. He leaves taking Vincent Morano with him; the group over hears him offering Morano a new position in Bremen.

I'm feeling like a criminal

I’m feeling like a criminal

Session 1 (Oct. 17, 2015)

Game events start evening of June 4, 2076 and end morning of June 6, 2076.

Player Characters.

Leo: Human Mage (Andrew Dombroski)
Maverick: Human Face (Bill Johnson)
Wrench: Human Rigger (Mark Gellar)
Tex: Dwarf Decker (Steve Cavelle)
Fiver: Human Adept (Aaron Shefield)

Five individuals, all desperate enough for money to try shadowrunning, are offered a job via a fixer they all know, named Lenny Morrison. They are directed to meet Mr. Johnson in a warehouse on the edge of the Puyallup district.

Meeting each other outside the backdoor of the warehouse the five proceed in to find the location mostly empty except for a couple of boxes, a beat up Bulldog Step Van and a desk with seven chairs arranged in front of it. Behind he desk sat a tall dark hared man who greeted them as Mr. Johnson. He offered them the following job.

On Saturday, June 6th Total Reality Management, a company dedicated to sculpting virtual reality objects and landscapes for major corporations, was going to be in possession of the source programing for the next generation of Ford, an Ares subsidiary, vehicles. TRMs lead designer, Vincent Morano, was going to do the final detail work on the finished software. The file was going to be physically delivered for security reasons and four Knight Errant guards were going to be on hand the entire time. The group was asked to do an extraction of both Morano and the source files and is offered 2,000¥ upfront and an additional 2,000¥ upon completion. Both files and designer are to be delivered to the same warehouse by Sunday evening.

Mr. Johnson explained that both Ares and Mitsuhama Computer Technologies regularly used TRM for final touches and Morano was considered the best in the business for matrix design. Both companies were looking to buy TRM outright and were in a bidding war that MCT was in a position to win. If the group managed to get the software and the lead designer TRM would be in a bad position and would likely end up having forfeited their contract, resulting in Ares being able to snap up the company in the court proceedings. Without Morano MCT would most likely lose interest in acquiring MCT.

The group accepts the job after Maverick successfully raises the completion pay to 3,000¥. They are also given a box containing guns and armor and are loaned the Bulldog, an armed Roto-Drone and a Microdeck Summit cyberdeck. The loaners are still have ownership registered to the Johnson and would be trackable if not returned. They are offered the use of the warehouse to do planning in but elect to move to a nearby flophouse, the Blues Brothers Inn, to do their planning.

Matrix searches along with astral and drone scouting reveal minimal security in the Auburn office building that houses TRM. They share the building with three other companies. Amalgamated Dentistry takes up the first two floors, Mathias Consulting has the entire third floor, TRM takes up floors four through eight and the final two floors are occupied by Nelson, Nelson and Mathews associates, Attorneys At Law. Hard Corps has the security contract four the building and the group decides to sneak in disguised as HC guards.

The day before the run is to happen Tex hacks the HC host, hardwiring himself to one of the locks on an emergency door of the target building. He slips a work log entry for the group for in the HC files and, noticing that MCT was doing a similar physical delivery to TRM fifteen minutes after the Ares delivery was to happen, he deleted the MCT delivery from the file. (For some reason the players seemed to think that security companies would get into a fire fight over a scheduling issue.) The group also used Lenny to get ok copies of HC uniforms and got one of Wrench’s contacts, Orthalek, to paint the van in HC livery.

At 8:10 that morning the group drove into the underground parking garage, hacking the gate to let them in. An additional hack let them use the main elevator to get to the reception area of TRM. Meanwhile Wrench sent the roto-drone to “fly casually” near the windows of the TRM offices in case the group needed backup, they’d noticed that the windows were not bulletproof. In that area they found the head of the Knight Errant guards, who were delivering the package, talking to Amanda Laverham, the pretty receptionist whom Maverick had set his sights on seducing when he saw her during the drone scouting. Maverick managed to intimidate the KE lieutenant when he sneered at the groups HC uniforms. Unfortunately Amanda was confused by the groups arrival as she could not remember a request for any additional security. Maverick’s attempts to con her into opening the private elevator to the rest of the offices were cut short when the roto-drone fired through the window, hitting Amanda and killing her instantly. Fiver managed to put a bullet through the drone, destroying it, and the others prepared themselves to take advantage of the confusion as Tex hacked the elevator open.

That’s where the session ended.
